Ayo Animashaun is a renowned media entrepreneur and cultural architect best known for founding HipTV and The Headies, two platforms that have significantly shaped African urban entertainment. In June 2021, he launched Walk for Life, a wellness movement tailored for professionals aged 35 to 55. The event began as a 10 km walk designed to restore balance, focus, and clarity in the lives of busy individuals, welcoming creatives, executives, influencers, and fitness enthusiasts into a purposeful space for wellness and reflection.
Under Ayo’s leadership, Walk for Life has grown into a community-powered movement. It has attracted high-profile participants including Funke Akindele, Nancy Isime, Ali Baba, Ramsey Nouah, Kate Henshaw, Bovi, Daddy Showkey, and Charly Boy, as well as industry leaders such as Steve Ayorinde, Amaechi Okobi, Emmanuel Oriakhi, Adeyinka Adebayo, and Amaju Pinnick. The initiative is supported by strategic partnerships with the Lagos State Government, GAC Motor, Power Oil, So Fresh, Verve, Amstel Malta Ultra, Aquafina, and several leading media outlets including HipTV, TVC, ARISE News, AIT, and SuperSport.
Walk for Life redefines wellness as a lifestyle built on presence, movement, and connection. Ayo describes it as a moment to pause, breathe, and realign—physically, mentally, and emotionally. With structured support including wellness guides, fitness certificates, and community interaction, Walk for Life is more than an event. It is a platform for healing, restoration, and unity. Through it, Ayo continues his legacy of building meaningful platforms that not only entertain but also empower and inspire.
