Empowering Africa’s Creative Economy: A Strategic Leap Forward
Being a part of the 32nd Annual Meetings of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in Abuja, where bold trade and investment strategies are influencing Africa’s future, is an honor.
This is a critical time for those of us working in the creative industries. In order to address long-standing funding and infrastructure gaps and enable African storytellers to reach audiences around the world, the US$1 billion Africa Film Fund was launched under the Creative Africa Nexus Program (Creative Africa Nexus, or CANEX).
Afreximbank has demonstrated a strategic vision to unlock Africa’s creative economy as a driver of inclusive growth, youth empowerment, and regional integration through its commitment to doubling CANEX funding to $2 billion and promoting cross-sector partnerships.
The partnership between C.R.E.A.M. and MTN is an exciting highlight that shows how partnerships and innovation can speed up Africa’s creative and digital transformation.
Here, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and creatives are working together to transform Africa’s creative landscape into a multibillion-dollar global force, and I’m inspired by that. I am honored to be a part of this exciting journey.
